Job summary

FutureCare Health is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to perform preventative maintenance on facility assets, building systems, fire/safety and medical equipment. You will log repairs, keep records, and ensure compliance with state and Federal codes while adhering to budget guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred (education requirement).
• At least 2 years’ experience in building maintenance preferred.
• Experience in skilled nursing facility environment is a plus.
• Ability to read, write and understand English.
• Polite and courteous demeanor toward residents and staff.
• Ability to multi-task and work a flexible shift.
• Ability to meet physical demands (standing, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs).

Responsibilities

• Provides ongoing preventative maintenance for the facility, building, building systems, fire/safety equipment and medical equipment.
• Performs all necessary repairs and maintains accurate records and logs and produces required reports.
• Assures compliance with State and Federal Regulatory codes.
• Adheres to FutureCare’s Ethics and Compliance Plan.
• Maintains clean, safe working environment at all times of the maintenance workshop.
• Reads and logs refrigerator temperatures daily.
• Tests and logs water temperatures daily.
• Observes budgetary guidelines regarding supplies and service and follows proper procedures for purchase orders.
• Adheres to facility policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
