Job summary

Highland Park Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Chelsea, MA is seeking a Maintenance Worker to maintain a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and staff.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent and 1+ years of general maintenance experience, including painting, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, or HVAC. Skilled nursing facility experience is preferred, with a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years general maintenance experience (painting, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC).
• Skilled nursing facility experience preferred.
• Basic understanding of safety procedures.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily physical rounds throughout the facility to identify and address maintenance needs and safety concerns.
• Perform minor plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and cosmetic repairs to facility systems and equipment.
• Review maintenance request logs regularly and complete work orders accurately and promptly.
• Collaborate with staff to support improvements in resident living spaces and overall facility environment.
• Assist with furniture moves, equipment repairs, and general maintenance projects as assigned.
• Troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues promptly and efficiently to support resident safety and comfort.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety standards, facility policies, and regulatory requirements.
