Job summary

Diversicare Healthcare Services, LLC is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team at a skilled nursing/long-term care facility in Alabama. The role focuses on preventative maintenance, building repairs, and safety compliance to ensure a safe, comfortable environment for residents.

You will perform HVAC/electrical/plumbing tasks, conduct safety tests, log system findings, and coordinate with departments to minimize disruption.

Qualifications

HVAC repair experience demonstrated.
Intermediate electrical and plumbing repair skills.
Knowledge of water heaters, generators, commercial kitchen equipment and refrigeration is a plus but not required.
Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations and blueprint interpretation.
Basic reading/writing and computer literacy required.
Positive attitude toward the elderly.

Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance and maintain maintenance records.
Perform building and equipment repairs as per work orders.
Conduct fire safety equipment tests under supervision.
Inspect building systems and log findings.
Coordinate maintenance services with department managers to ensure uninterrupted performance.
Perform basic carpentry, drywall, flooring and painting as needed to maintain appearance.
Maintain building in good repair and in compliance with laws.
Follow safety rules and Policies & Procedures of building.
Order equipment and supplies and maintain records of repairs and purchases.
May drive for company business with company or personal vehicle.
Maintain resident confidentiality; treat residents with kindness and respect.
