Job summary

SNF Healthcare in Edison, NJ is seeking a qualified maintenance professional to lead the Maintenance Department. The role requires at least two years of maintenance experience, nursing home exposure, and knowledge of boilers, generators, and related mechanical/electrical/plumbing systems.

The ideal candidate will be able to read blueprints, adhere to building codes and safety regulations, and make independent decisions while coordinating with Dietary, Nursing, and Activities teams.

Qualifications

• Two years of maintenance experience minimum.
• Experience in nursing homes.
• HVAC certification preferred.
• Knowledge of boilers, compressors, generators and related mechanical/electrical/plumbing systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations.
• Licensed according to current standards, codes, labor laws, etc.
• English reading/writing/speaking required.
• Ability to make independent decisions when warranted.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the Maintenance Department, its programs and activities.
• Develop and maintain written maintenance policies and procedures.
• Assist the maintenance staff in the development and use of departmental policies, procedures, equipment, supplies, etc.
• Review the department’s policies, procedure manuals, job descriptions, etc., annually for revisions and make recommendations to the Administrator.
• Coordinate maintenance services and activities with other related departments (i.e., Dietary, Nursing, Activities, etc.).
• Make written or oral reports/recommendations to the Administrator as necessary/required concerning the operation of the Maintenance Department.
• Assist in establishing a preventive maintenance program.
