Job summary

Genesis HealthCare is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to keep the nursing center and grounds clean, safe, and orderly with a pleasant appearance. You will address repairs on handrails, doors, floors and equipment and handle HVAC filters while stocking supplies.

A high school diploma and basic wiring/plumbing/carpentry knowledge are required, with weekend on-duty possibilities. The role runs Monday–Friday 8:30am–5:00pm, with some weekend on duty.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing and carpentry.
• Maintenance experience preferred and reliability in a team setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of tasks to maintain the nursing center and grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
• Make minor repairs to handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs, geri-chairs, electrical equipment, sprinkler systems, generators, emergency lighting, fire alarms and extinguishers.
• Change filters on HVAC equipment.
• Carry, lift and stock supplies; assume maintenance supervisor's responsibilities in his/her absence.
