Job summary

EMCOR Facilities Services is seeking a Building Engineer for the Stanford Medicine project in the Palo Alto, CA area. The role focuses on operation, maintenance, and repair of building mechanical, electrical, and control systems to ensure continuous critical facility performance.

Candidate will handle emergency responses, routine maintenance, and coordination of materials for repairs in a high-90s degree environment, with emphasis on safety and reliability in hospital facilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years experience operating central building equipment, HVAC, mechanical, electrical, or electronic systems.
• Repair building electrical, plumbing, and HVAC auxiliary systems.
• Safely secure hydronic and electrical systems for maintenance.
• Braze or solder copper pipe; thread black pipe.
• Basic carpentry skills.
• Knowledge of building systems like fire-life safety and standby generators.
• Ability to operate respirator, climb ladders, and lift heavy objects.

Responsibilities

• Operate, repair, and maintain mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
• Install electrical circuits and repair fixtures.
• Inspect and service emergency generators and UPS systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance including belt changes and lubrication.
• Document inspections and report to Supervisors.
• Respond to service calls and resolve emergencies.
