Job summary

CARNEGIEPARK is seeking a reliable Housekeeper to maintain a clean, safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors. You will clean public areas, resident rooms, and bathrooms, sanitize surfaces, and keep floors in top condition.

Applicants should follow safety guidelines, lift up to 25 lbs, and work independently or as part of a team. A high school diploma is preferred and prior housekeeping in healthcare is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in healthcare housekeeping is a plus.
• Ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines.
• Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read and understand manuals and directions.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Physical demands include walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain public and common areas including lobbies, restrooms, drinking fountains, and floors.
• Ensure resident rooms and bathrooms are cleaned and sanitized regularly.
• Wipe down handrails to keep them free of dust and debris.
• Remove dirt, dust, and food from walls, mirrors, windows, light fixtures, towel bars, and dispensers.
• Empty trash cans and replace liners as needed.
• Sweep and mop floors throughout the facility.
• Follow safety protocols, including using caution signage and storing chemicals securely.
• Operate cleaning equipment and use supplies according to manufacturer instructions.
• Keep housekeeping carts, equipment, and storage areas clean, organized, and sanitary.
• Report any resident safety concerns immediately to the Director of Housekeeping, Administrator, or Director of Nursing.
• Notify the Director of Housekeeping when supplies need replenishment.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service and a positive attitude.
• Manage time effectively and complete tasks efficiently.
• Work independently or as part of a team to meet facility standards.
