Job summary

Ocean Health Initiatives, Inc. is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to perform routine and preventive maintenance across all OHI sites in New Jersey.

You will inspect HVAC, electrical, plumbing, safety systems and vehicles, execute minor repairs, and coordinate with contractors for specialized work. The role requires a high school diploma and a clean driving record, with 1–2 years of healthcare setting experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1–2 years of experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
• Clean driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect building systems (HVAC, lighting, plumbing, and fire safety) at all OHI sites for maintenance or repair.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as filter changes, lubrication, and cleaning.
• Inspect site exteriors, grounds and equipment for repairs or safety concerns.
• Execute minor repairs (painting, drywall, basic electrical, and minor plumbing).
• Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and order parts as needed.
• Respond to urgent maintenance issues promptly (water leaks, power outages, security concerns).
• Coordinate with outside contractors for complex repairs requiring specialized skills.
• Operate hand and power tools safely with PPE.
• Inspect OHI vehicles for maintenance and safety, ensuring preventive maintenance is performed.
• Move furniture, hang artworks/certifications, and assist with file relocation as needed.
• Monitor maintenance tickets in Monday.com and document actions taken.
• Assist with snow removal and basic housekeeping when required.
• Set up tents, heaters, tables, chairs and crowd control equipment for events.

Education
