Job summary

Cayuga Medical Center in Ithaca, NY is seeking a Facilities Worker to join the Centralus Health facilities team. The role involves maintenance and minor construction tasks within a healthcare setting, with emphasis on safety, reliability, and compliance.

The position supports operations with basic trades work, uses preventive maintenance practices, and requires lifting up to 50 pounds. Evening shifts, five 8-hour shifts per week, with local travel to Centralus locations as needed.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of one year experience as a handyman helper or laborer in mechanical or construction trades.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and compliant healthcare environment by following safety procedures and addressing hazards.
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and installation of facility systems and equipment.
• Perform basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC maintenance under supervision of skilled trades staff.
• Support Facilities operations by maintaining tools, equipment and inventory and documenting maintenance activities.
