Job summary

Medxcel in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Facilities role within the St. Vincent's Riverside Medical Center with dayshift, full-time schedule. This position supports building systems, maintenance, energy use, and inventory control to ensure safe, efficient operations at a major healthcare facility.

The role also involves supervising staff, coordinating training, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. A strong background in healthcare facility management is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Five years’ experience in the maintenance and operation of a physical plant and/or building maintenance for a large facility.
• Knowledge and experience with Joint Commission, NFPA, state and federal regulations for healthcare facilities.
• Three years’ supervisory experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Supports facilities operations by managing building systems, maintenance, grounds, energy use, and equipment inventories to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Oversees staffing activities including scheduling, training, and daily work assignments to maintain appropriate coverage and team performance.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory and safety standards (e.g., TJC), including conducting audits, maintaining documentation, and supporting inspections.
• Manages vendor and contractor relationships, including project coordination, bid processes, and monitoring performance for repairs, maintenance, and capital projects.
• Supports budget management by reviewing purchase requests, coordinating with vendors and Purchasing, and ensuring alignment with financial and operational goals.
• Drives process improvement and operational efficiency while maintaining strong communication and customer service with internal stakeholders, vendors, and leadership.
