Job summary

La Vida Buena Healthcare is seeking a friendly Maintenance Assistant to oversee facility maintenance, ensuring sanitary, attractive, and safe conditions. You will report to the Plant Supervisor or Operations Manager and ensure compliance with state regulations.

Responsibilities include safety inspections, completing preventive maintenance, and maintaining thorough documentation. Prior experience in long-term care is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma is required.
• Knowledge of laundry/housekeeping/maintenance procedures.
• Minimum of 2 years work experience in long-term care preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Performs regular, scheduled safety inspections.
• Follows Life Safety and Preventative Maintenance tasks in the system.
• Prepares a monthly maintenance schedule based on calendar days.
• Maintains documentation of all maintenance activities and parts used.
• Maintains logs and OSHA-compliant documentation including alarms, detectors, and safety checks.
• Picks up and prioritizes work orders; tracks electronically.
• Maintains electrical and mechanical equipment in good working order.
• Assists in room preparation for new or discharged residents.
