The Center at Advocate is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Assistant Director to oversee daily operations of the maintenance department, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and compliant environment for residents and staff.

The role requires proactive leadership, strong knowledge of healthcare facility systems, and the ability to manage inspections, preventive maintenance, budgets, and emergency requests.

Qualifications

• Oversee daily maintenance operations in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Maintenance Director in managing the overall maintenance operations, including regular inspections and preventive maintenance schedules.
• Supervise, train, and support the maintenance staff, ensuring efficient operation and compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Ensure the timely completion of repair requests, addressing issues related to plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and general facility maintenance.
• Assist in managing the maintenance budget, ordering supplies, and maintaining inventory of materials and equipment.
• Oversee the facility’s compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to building maintenance and safety standards.
• Ensure the building, grounds, and equipment are maintained in a safe, clean, and efficient condition.
• Assist in conducting safety drills and ensuring the facility is up to code regarding fire prevention and emergency systems.
• Participate in the preparation of facilities for inspections and audits by regulatory bodies.
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests as needed, including after-hours coverage.
• Maintain effective communication with the Nursing Home Administrator, department heads, and staff to ensure smooth operations.
• Assist in preparing reports related to maintenance activities, repairs, and budget updates.
