Job summary

Lutheran Health Network is seeking a Maintenance Engineer II to ensure the functionality, safety, and compliance of hospital facility systems. You will perform advanced maintenance, repairs, and installations across mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

You may supervise entry-level engineers and respond to urgent issues to support efficient operations. Strong troubleshooting, reading blueprints, and safety knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree or formal training in facility maintenance, mechanical systems, or a related field preferred.
• 2-4 years of experience in facilities maintenance, engineering, or related roles required.
• 3-5 years of experience in facilities maintenance, engineering, or related roles in a hospital or healthcare setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and performs repairs on mechanical, electrical, and/or plumbing systems, and hospital equipment.
• Responds to work requests and trouble calls promptly and professionally.
• Ensures maintenance activities meet safety regulations and hospital standards (e.g., OSHA, NFPA, Joint Commission).
• Addresses urgent repair requests and resolves critical issues to minimize disruptions.
• Performs regular inspections and maintains hospital buildings and infrastructure.
• Keeps accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.
• Assists with budget management and orders maintenance supplies and parts.
• Maintains detailed logs for management oversight.
• Addresses and resolves critical maintenance issues quickly to minimize disruptions.
• Performs other duties as assigned and maintains regular attendance.
