Job summary

Avem Business Solutions seeks a Director of Facilities Management to oversee maintenance, operations, and safety across hospital facilities. You will lead a team, coordinate with vendors, and ensure compliance with construction and environmental standards.

The role requires extensive healthcare facilities experience, strong leadership, and the ability to manage capital projects and onboarding of new facilities within budget and time constraints.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline or 5 years of equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of ten years of experience within a major healthcare organization or health care system setting.
• Five years of relevant major construction and facility maintenance experience.
• Experience in managing complex capital projects.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Proven experience with fiscal planning.
• Strong systematic problem-solving skills; cross-functional collaboration.
• Knowledge of HVAC boilers, compressors, generators, and related systems.

Responsibilities

• Directs day-to-day facilities, plant operations, and Home Office operations.
• Maintain contact with internal/external customers to meet needs.
• Direct inventory, maintenance, and vendor actions.
• Execute and track equipment audits.
• Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance per industry standards.
• Develop and enhance hospital processes; implement problem solving and countermeasures.
• Manage vendor performance and ensure safety compliance.
• Implement LEAN processes to improve workflows and standards.
• Lead site assessments and onboarding for new facilities.
• Direct projects such as repairs, construction, and maintenance within timeframes and budgets.
• Inspect and oversee new construction, repairs, and daily maintenance.
