Job summary

Encompass Health is seeking an experienced Facilities Management Director to ensure our rehabilitation hospital and related sites operate safely and efficiently. You’ll oversee building systems, regulatory compliance, and a culture focused on patient care and comfort.

Lead preventive maintenance, coordinate safety and environment of care activities, and drive an inclusive workplace. Prior healthcare facilities leadership and CHFM preferred; driver’s license required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and/or five or more years of experience in hospital maintenance/construction within a healthcare setting are required.
• Minimum five years of supervisory experience in healthcare facility operations and systems.
• Broad knowledge of regulatory standards (TJC, OSHA, EPA, NFPA) is essential.
• Membership in a healthcare engineering association is preferred; CHFM is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure hospital, satellite clinics and related building systems meet Joint Commission and local regulations.
• Plan and lead environment of care/safety meetings; may serve as safety officer for compliance.
• Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance programs following manufacturer recommendations.
• Foster an inclusive, diverse work environment and culture.
