Job summary

Stanford Health Care is seeking a Facilities Architect and owner’s representative for the Cancer Center project in Redwood City. You will lead architectural workstreams, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and ensure compliance with healthcare codes and BIM standards.

Based at the Redwood City office, this hybrid role blends design leadership with project delivery, emphasizing patient safety, lean principles, and effective stakeholder communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Architecture, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• 5–7+ years architecture/engineering experience with healthcare projects.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare regulatory codes and standards; understanding of CBC, accessibility, OSHPD.
• Ability to read and coordinate across structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing drawings in an integrated project environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical architectural leadership on healthcare projects and QA/QC reviews.
• Coordinate with consultant architects to integrate user goals and operational requirements into design.
• Lead design workstreams, manage budgets, schedules, and design-phase deliverables.
• Prepare diagrams and presentation materials to communicate design intent to stakeholders.
• Apply lean, patient-safety, and evidence-based design concepts to inform planning decisions.
