Job summary

NMC Health is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to join our hospital cleaning team in Newton. You will perform routine cleaning tasks in patient rooms and public areas, ensuring a sanitary and safe environment for patients and staff.

Responsibilities include handling biological waste, maintaining assigned areas, and interacting with patients and staff with discretion and professionalism. This is a full-time, day-shift role at the Medical Center facility.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent is desired.
• Age 15 or older is acceptable.
• Prior housekeeping/environmental services in a healthcare setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain assigned areas in and around the hospital to ensure a neat, sanitary and safe environment.
• Handle and dispose of biological waste properly.
• Interact with patients, family members and employees with professional conduct.
• Exhibit strong communication, confidentiality and customer service skills.
• Perform traditional janitorial tasks like mopping and dusting.
