Job summary

NMC Health is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to join our hospital cleaning team in Newton. You will perform routine cleaning tasks in patient rooms and public areas, ensuring a sanitary and safe environment for patients and staff.

Responsibilities include handling biological waste, maintaining assigned areas, and interacting with patients and staff with discretion and professionalism. This is a full-time, day-shift role at the Medical Center facility.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent is desired.
• Age 15 or older is acceptable.
• Prior housekeeping/environmental services in a healthcare setting is a plus.

We are currently seeking aHousekeeping/EVS TechnicianatNMC Health. In this role, you will play an important role in the health and safety of patients. You will use your commitment to quality and attention to detail every day as you ensure compliance with medical standards for cleaning of patient rooms and other care giving, public and office spaces. TheHousekeeping/EVS Technicianposition includes:

• Traditional janitorial tasks like mopping and dusting
• Requires an understanding of proper handling and disposal of biological waste
• Have contact with patients, family members and employees
• Strong communication, confidentiality and customer service skills are key
• Clean and maintain assigned areas in and around the hospital to ensure a neat, sanitary and safe environment.

Several Full Time Days position

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and experience:

• High school graduate or equivalent desired
• Age 15 or older is acceptable
• Prior housekeeping/environmental services in a healthcare setting is a plus

Knowledge, skills, & abilities :

• Ability and desire to provide excellent customer service to all customers including others on the environmental services team, employees throughout the facility and external customers.
• Ability and willingness to follow written and oral instructions.
• Quality and speed needed for this position.
• Ability to lift 25 pounds or more, stoop, bend, stand and walk for an 8-hour shift or longer. Will also need to climb ladders and clean windows.
