Job summary

Sanford Health is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to maintain a safe, sanitary environment in patient and resident areas. You will empty waste baskets, sweep, scrub, wax floors, and operate cleaning equipment following infection control and safety guidelines.

This role requires the ability to lift up to 40-50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays depending on location.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum six months housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and cleaning chemicals is helpful.
• Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and sanitary environment in patient/resident rooms and assigned areas.
• Empty waste baskets, sweep, scrub, wax, or polish floors and operate cleaning equipment.
• Assist in laundry areas as appropriate.
• Follow infection control, safety, and procedural guidelines and wear protective equipment as required.
