Job summary

Sanford Health is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to maintain a clean and safe environment in patient and common areas. Responsibilities include waste handling, floor care, PPE usage, and keeping areas orderly.

The role may involve laundry assistance and using technology systems as needed. Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent and experience in housekeeping or healthcare custodial work is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of six months housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
• Ability to use computer and prior cleaning experience is helpful.
• Knowledge of materials, equipment, cleaning methods and cleaning chemicals is helpful.
• Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, sanitary environment in patient rooms and areas.
• Perform cleaning tasks: empty waste, sweep, scrub, wax, polish floors.
• Wear PPE and keep equipment and carts clean and stocked.
• Assist in laundry areas as appropriate.
• May use technology applications and pagers as needed.
• Physical ability to lift 40-50 lbs and stay on feet most shifts.
• Work hours vary by patient needs, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
