• Use pagers and other technology appropriately; assist in laundry areas as needed.

Responsibilities

• Empty waste baskets and maintain cleanliness of patient/resident rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas.
• Sweep, scrub, wax, and polish floors using brooms, mops, or powered scrubbing and waxing machines.
• Wear proper protective equipment and keep storage, equipment and carts well‑stocked, clean, and tidy.
• Use pagers and other technology appropriately; assist in laundry areas as needed.
• Perform physical activities such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, twisting, squatting, and handling materials, with the ability to lift 40–50 lbs.
• Work during overtime, call, backup call, nights, days, weekends, and holidays as required by patient/resident needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Minimum six months of housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience (preferred).
• Ability to use a computer; prior cleaning experience helpful.
• Knowledge of cleaning materials, equipment, methods and chemicals.
• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment preferred.
