Job summary

Good Samaritan is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to maintain a clean and sanitary environment within Canistota SD facility. You will perform floor care, waste removal, and multi-area cleaning following infection control and safety guidelines during a full-time day shift.

The role includes a 5:30am–2pm schedule, 40 hours per week, and a location premium of $2.50/hr. A HS diploma and cleaning experience are preferred, with benefits for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of six months housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
• Ability to use computer and prior cleaning experience is helpful.
• Knowledge of materials, equipment, cleaning methods and cleaning chemicals is helpful.
• Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and sanitary environment in patient/resident rooms and assigned areas.
• Empty waste baskets, sweep, scrub, wax, or polish floors with traditional or powered equipment.
• Follow infection control, safety, and procedural guidelines.
• Assist in laundry areas as appropriate and use technology when needed.
• Lift and move up to 40-50 lbs and be on your feet for most of the shift.
