Job summary

Good Samaritan in Osceola, NE is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to maintain a safe, sanitary environment in patient and resident areas, following infection control and safety guidelines. The role includes cleaning duties such as emptying waste, sweeping, scrubbing, waxing floors, using cleaning tools, and assisting in laundry when needed.

The position is part-time with a 20-hour workweek and day shift.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of six months housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
• Ability to use computer and prior cleaning experience is helpful.
• Knowledge of materials, equipment, cleaning methods and cleaning chemicals is helpful.
• Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and sanitary environment in patient/resident areas and assigned spaces.
• Empty waste baskets, sweep, scrub, wax or polish floors and operate cleaning equipment.
• Follow infection control and safety guidelines and properly use protective gear.
• Assist in laundry areas as appropriate and support other housekeeping tasks as needed.
• Keep storage, equipment and carts clean and organized; may interact with staff and residents.
