Job summary

Good Samaritan Society is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to maintain a clean, safe environment in patient and resident areas within a healthcare setting. The role includes cleaning floors, rooms, lobbies, restrooms and more, following infection control guidelines and using proper protective equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Six months housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
• Ability to use computer; prior cleaning experience helpful.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and cleaning chemicals is helpful.
• Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and sanitary environment in patient/resident rooms and assigned areas.
• Empty waste baskets, sweep, scrub, wax floors and clean using appropriate equipment.
• Assist in laundry areas as appropriate and keep storage areas clean and stocked.
• Wear PPE and follow infection control and safety guidelines; use technology as needed.
• Lift up to 40–50 lbs and be on feet for most shifts; hours vary.
