Job summary

Good Samaritan Society in Oberlin, KS is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to maintain a safe, sanitary environment for patients, residents, and staff. You will perform housekeeping tasks including waste handling, sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, and floor care in various areas of the facility.

Successful candidates will have at least six months of cleaning experience, strong customer service and communication skills, and comfortable using basic computer tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Six months housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
• Ability to use computer and prior cleaning experience is helpful.
• Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and sanitary environment in patient/resident rooms and assigned areas.
• Handle waste, sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, or floor care as needed.
• Assist in laundry areas as appropriate.
• Follow infection control, safety and procedural guidelines.
• Work hours vary by location and program needs; overtime may be required.
