Job summary

Advocate Health Care is seeking a dedicated environmental services technician to clean and disinfect patient rooms, offices, rest rooms, and common areas across hospital and off-site facilities. You will follow established procedures and schedules.

You will operate cleaning equipment, handle chemicals per policy, maintain a safe, welcoming environment, and provide courteous service to patients and staff. High school diploma required; ability to lift up to 35 pounds; English communication

Qualifications

Excellent customer service skills.
Able to operate small electrical equipment such as vacuum cleaners.
Ability to communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

Operates various equipment following department procedures.
Use chemicals and solution following department policy.
Keeps work areas in orderly, clean and safe condition.
Thoroughly washes and sanitizes beds when patients are discharged; makes beds with clean linen in accordance with department procedures.
Thoroughly cleans and sanitizes entire room and washroom when patients are discharged, utilizing established department procedures.
Presents department in a positive manner to all contacts.
Maintains courteous and pleasant attitude to patients, families and other contacts.
