Job summary

Sanford Health at Good Samaritan-Waukon is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, residents and staff. This role requires following infection control and safety guidelines while performing routine cleaning tasks in patient areas and common spaces.

Day shift, 40 hours per week, with opportunities for advancement and access to education assistance. A competitive benefits package is available for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of six months housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
• Ability to use computer and prior cleaning experience is helpful.
• Knowledge of materials, equipment, cleaning methods and cleaning chemicals is helpful.
• Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, sanitary environment in patient/resident rooms and areas.
• Empty waste baskets, sweep, mop, wax floors and clean restrooms.
• Follow infection control and safety guidelines.
• Assist in laundry areas as appropriate.
• Operate cleaning equipment and PPE as required.
