Job summary

Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover, NH is hiring an Environmental Services Floor Technician to keep patient areas clean, safe, and welcoming. You will support infection prevention and hospital operations through floor care and environmental services tasks in a team-focused setting.

The role offers a full-time schedule with a mix of day shifts on site, and ample opportunities for hands-on work and professional growth within the Mass General Brigham system.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 2–3 years of experience with cleaning equipment in hospital or healthcare setting required.
• Previous floor care, environmental services or custodial experience preferred.
• Ability to operate floor care equipment or learn.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication and comprehension skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to lift, push and pull equipment and supplies as needed.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, wax, strip, and polish floors throughout the hospital.
• Operate high- and low-speed stripping and buffing machines.
• Vacuum and shampoo carpets in assigned areas.
• Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, equipment, and woodwork.
• Clean walls, ceilings, windows, blinds, door glass, and related surfaces.
• Clean and sanitize restroom facilities and replenish supplies.
• Empty, clean, and sanitize waste receptacles.
• Set up tables, chairs, and equipment for hospital events and daily operations.
• Identify and report building maintenance or safety concerns.
• Maintain hospital cleanliness, infection prevention, and safety standards.
• Provide professional and courteous customer service to patients, visitors, and staff.
