Job summary

UPMC Mercy is seeking full-time Environmental Services Associates to join our environmental services team. All schedules involve rotating weekends and holidays, with opportunities to grow and learn in a team-focused setting.

Responsibilities include cleaning patient rooms, public areas, offices, and equipment, while adhering to safety and sanitation regulations and reporting issues to supervisors. HS Diploma/GED or one year of prior experience required.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma/GED or one year of previous job experience required.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions to successfully complete housekeeping duties.
• Ability to use housekeeping equipment.

Responsibilities

• Clean all assigned areas, including patient rooms, public areas, toilets, procedure rooms, offices, and equipment, following established procedures.
• Follow all safety and sanitation regulations.
• Inspect and ensure that all assigned areas are properly cleaned and in good repair, and report problems to the supervisor.
• Maintain assigned equipment in clean, working condition, reporting problems and suggestions to the supervisor.
• Make beds, following established cleaning procedures in all patient discharge rooms and on-call rooms as assigned.
• Move equipment, furniture, boxes, wash walls, spot carpets, etc. as assigned.
• Remove trash from all assigned areas.
• Replenish paper towels, toilet paper, and soap in all locations of assigned areas to ensure adequate supply.
