Job summary

MedStar Montgomery Medical Center is seeking an experienced leader to plan, coordinate and direct Emergency Management (EM) and Life Safety (LS) activities across the campus, interpreting Joint Commission, NFPA, and MOSH regulations while liaising with local fire departments to protect patients, staff and visitors.

The role involves developing and maintaining the Emergency Operations Plan, designing hospital-wide training, coordinating drills, and ensuring OSHA/JS standards are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required. One year of relevant education may substitute for one year of work experience.
• 5-7 years knowledge of Joint Commission Physical Environment and EM standards.
• 5-7 years knowledge of project management.
• 5-7 years FEMA ICS 100/200/300/400/700 required.
• 5-7 years knowledge of NFPA codes.
• Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP) within 1 year required.

Responsibilities

• Reviews, revises, and maintains the Emergency Operations Plan annually.
• Designs, develops, coordinates, and implements hospital-wide training on Emergency Management Plans.
• Oversees drills and ensures compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, OSHA standards.
• Acts as liaison with local fire departments and Fire Marshal's Office.
• Maintains records of safety documentation and conducts safety rounds as needed.
