Job summary

Savista, LLC is seeking an Eligibility Specialist to advocate for patients needing financial assistance for healthcare services. You will guide applicants through Medicaid, Medicare, disability, and charity care options while coordinating with hospital staff and agencies.

You will manage a high caseload with empathy, conduct outreach by phone, and maintain HIPAA-compliant records across multiple systems. This role supports diverse hospital locations and communities.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• 1+ year of experience in a customer-facing role; healthcare, financial counseling, social services, or similar experience preferred.
• Proficiency in English; Spanish preferred.
• Basic knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security Disability programs.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to navigate multiple software systems, applications, and platforms.
• Strong communication skills with empathetic, clear explanations.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a patient advocate by meeting with patients to assess eligibility for financial assistance programs.
• Engage patients through phone outreach to support completion of screenings and documentation.
• Guide patients through applications for Medicaid, Medicare, disability, and hospital charity care.
• Help patients understand their financial responsibilities and available assistance options.
• Build relationships with patients, hospital staff, government agencies, and internal teams to resolve eligibility issues.
• Manage a high caseload while prioritizing follow-up, deadlines, and maintaining productivity and quality.
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with HIPAA and policies.
• Use multiple systems and tools to document, track, and report patient information.
• Support operational needs and provide coverage at nearby hospital locations when needed.
• Complete special projects as assigned.
