Job summary

Newton-Wellesley Hospital, part of Mass General Brigham, is seeking a Distribution Technician II for its Materials Management Department. The role focuses on stocking, replenishment, and organization of supplies throughout the hospital to support patient care and operations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
• Able to communicate in English.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
• Keyboarding skills or experience with handheld computer technology preferred.
• Ability to learn internal systems/programs such as PeopleSoft/Workday and Wits System.
• Must possess a positive attitude and ability to use sound reasoning in isolating a problem and reach a sound conclusion.

Responsibilities

• Performs logistics functions, including replenishment of assigned nursing units and patient care areas.
• Stock unit supply and equipment storage areas and medication rooms daily.
• Cleans and inspects equipment according to department and hospital guidelines, including use of iPhone and Filemaker applications.
• Checks for expiration dating on supplies and equipment; preventative maintenance and removal of affected product and equipment as required.
• Assist vendor truck driver with loading/unloading of supply carts.
• Provide feedback to Inventory Specialist regarding par level adjustments, removal of product and addition of supplies or equipment via email.
• Perform cart maintenance tasks; replace/add labels and bins; reorganize carts.
• Complete required documentation (assignment sheets, checklists, requisitions, etc.).
• Provides customer service support to end users and staff regarding product location, delivery and returns.
• Performs product conversions, adds and recalls as directed by Leadership Team.
• Report discrepancies, problems or questions to Leadership Team related to the acquisition and distribution process.
• Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and compliance of the office, hallways and dock.
• Follow hospital guidelines and procedures.
• Responsible for receipt and delivery of bulk medications from vendors to the pharmacy or nursing units.
