Job summary

Hospice of Northwest Ohio is seeking a kitchen cook for its Toledo and Perrysburg kitchens. The role prepares meals per predetermined recipes, assists in dietary services for patients, and ensures food safety and sanitation throughout the shift.

Responsibilities include assembling patient trays, maintaining inventory, and delivering meals while providing friendly customer service to staff and visitors. Commitment to HIPAA and dietary guidelines is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year cooking experience and/or training in food service preparation; healthcare setting preferred.
• ServSafe Level 1 certified or able to obtain certification within 90 days of employment.
• Strong verbal communication and customer service skills.
• Able to read, write and follow directions and recipes.
• Must meet physical requirements of the position.
• Experience working in a team environment.
• Ability to work various shifts and in both Toledo and Perrysburg kitchens.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and cooks food items per menu and recipes.
• Assembles patient trays according to dietary orders.
• Maintains kitchen cleanliness and follows cleaning schedule.
• Monitors food temperatures and handles food safely.
• Orders supplies and manages inventory.
• Greet and assist employees and visitors with friendly service.
• Adheres to HIPAA guidelines and confidentiality.
