Job summary

Tennessee State Veterans' Home Board in Clarksville, TN, seeks a Dietary Aide for full-time shifts. You will assist Diet Cooks in meal preparation and service to residents, following state and federal sanitation standards.

The role requires standing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and coordinating with staff to ensure timely meals and a clean dining environment. Swing shifts run 5:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m. and 11:30 a.m.–7:30 p.m.

Qualifications

• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Willingness to follow state and federal sanitation standards.
• Experience in healthcare food service is a plus.
• Ability to understand simple instructions and communicate clearly.
• Ability to read and follow recipes and menus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation of meals according to menu and portions.
• Set up dining area and prepare items such as salads and beverages.
• Take resident orders and serve meals promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness of dining and prep areas and equipment.
• Care for food service equipment and collaborate with staff.
