Job summary

Tennessee State Veterans’ Home Board is seeking a dietary aide to assist in meal preparation and service for residents. The role supports dining room setup, food preparation, and timely serving of meals in a healthcare environment.

Responsibilities include cleaning and sanitizing areas, handling equipment, and coordinating with dietary managers. This position requires flexibility for shifts and adherence to state/federal sanitation standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Experience serving meals in healthcare food service preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos; basic writing and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of meals according to menu and portion sizes.
• Set up dining room and prepare salads/beverages.
• Serve meals to residents in a timely manner and take orders.
• Clean dining and prep areas, wash and sanitize equipment and utensils.
• Care for food service equipment and cooperate with staff and departments.
