Job summary

Scripps Health in the San Diego area seeks a Data Scientist to join a remote-first team with occasional on-site engagement. The role focuses on turning large, diverse healthcare data into actionable insights that improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency.

You will collaborate with clinicians, IT, and business leaders to plan and execute data-driven initiatives. You will develop predictive models, evaluate AI tools, and translate complex analyses into practical recommendations.

Qualifications

• Experience with healthcare data sources (claims, authorizations, pharmacy).
• Experience with statistical modeling and interpretation of complex data.
• Experience analyzing healthcare utilization, costs, risk, or quality measures.
• Excellent communication of complex concepts to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced, integrated analytics in support of organizational objectives.
• Source, manage, and analyze large amounts of unstructured data; synthesize results.
• Partner with stakeholders to plan and execute projects and produce actionable data.
• Design data modeling processes and develop ML models to generate insights.
