Job summary

Salud Healthcare is seeking an experienced Director of Business Intelligence & Data Engineering to own our data platform and analytics end-to-end — the Databricks Enterprise Datawarehouse with curated data marts, a governed semantic layer and BI, and the engineering discipline behind the data‑adjacent applications.

This is a builder‑first leadership role: you will set the technical direction for data, lead by example on quality and delivery, and grow a team that turns a data‑and‑analytics group

Qualifications

• 10+ years in data engineering / BI with leadership experience.
• Fluent in Databricks / Spark and lakehouse modeling.
• Healthcare data experience with payer, claims and clinical data; HIPAA aware.
• Strong SQL and dimensional data modeling expertise.
• Delivery discipline with sprint, code review, testing, CI/CD.
• Cloud data platforms (Azure) and data governance background.
• Excellent communication with executives and business users.

Responsibilities

• Own the data platform and analytics end-to-end (EDW 2.0 / Databricks).
• Govern the semantic layer and metrics store for trusted dashboards.
• Ensure data quality at the source and establish data gates.
• Grow and manage the data engineering and BI team, including offshore staff.
• Partner with clinical, operations, and finance stakeholders; prioritize roadmap.
• Lead cost governance, security controls, and HIPAA-aligned practices.
• Establish sprint discipline with CI/CD and environment parity.
