Job summary

Forefront is seeking a Cook to prepare meals in accordance with federal, state, and local standards, ensuring patient safety and quality. You will assist in resident, family, and employee meal preparation, deliver orders, and maintain presentation standards.

Responsibilities include monitoring temperatures, supervising storage, and reporting supply or equipment needs. The role requires adherence to HIPAA and health regulations, with mandatory training and departmental meetings as scheduled.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• High school graduate or equivalent education is preferred.
• Preference is given to persons with an education in quantity cooking and therapeutic diets.
• Minimum one (1) year food service experience in a health care dietary setting is desired.
• Minimum of two (2) years working in food and beverage operation preferred.
• Have general knowledge of quantity food preparation and portioned serving.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow recipe directions, diet orders and work assignments.
• Able and willing to work flexible hours, such as during an emergency situation.
• Must be patient and tolerant toward staff, patients, and family members.
• ServSafe preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals following recipes and standards.
• Assist in all preparation of resident, family, and employee meals.
• Deliver and take orders as needed.
• Monitor food temperatures to meet goals.
• Inspect deliveries and supervise storage of supplies.
• Notify management of supplies or equipment needs.
• Report equipment issues and unsafe conditions.
• Ensure compliance with health and sanitation regulations.
• Attend department meetings and training.
