Job summary

Anchor Care and Rehabilitation Center in Hazlet, NJ is seeking a reliable and motivated Cook to join our dietary team. The Cook will prepare and serve nutritious, high-quality meals for our residents, following dietary requirements, menus, and food safety standards.

Qualifications

At least 1 year of experience in healthcare, hospital, nursing home, or institutional food service.
Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper food-handling practices.
Ability to follow menus, recipes, and dietary instructions.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Dependable, organized, and committed to providing quality service to residents.

Responsibilities

Prepare meals according to planned menus, recipes, dietary guidelines, and portion standards.
Ensure meals are appetizing, nutritious, and well-presented.
Follow recipes and accommodate special dietary needs and restrictions.
Prepare meal substitutions and bedtime snacks as needed.
Maintain proper food handling, sanitation, and safe food storage practices.
Monitor food quality and freshness.
Assist with food preparation and service for facility events.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and food preparation area.
Work collaboratively with the dietary and nursing teams to meet residents' nutritional needs.
