Job summary

Dignity Health’s Glendale Memorial Hospital in California is seeking a Cook to prepare high-quality meals for patients, staff, and visitors, including therapeutic diets. You will follow strict safety and sanitation rules, maintain temperature control, and ensure accurate portioning in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Required are 1 year of food service experience, a High School Diploma or GED, and a Food Handler Permit to be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

1 year of Food Service Experience required.
High School Diploma/GED required.
Food Handler Permit required (must obtain within 30 days of hire date).

Responsibilities

Prepares and serves food within the guidelines of the menu and dietary requirements, using required kitchen utensils and equipment such as slicers, mixers, ovens, fryers, steamers, stove tops, and grills. Modifies preparations to account for food allergies.
Follows healthcare foodservice industry standards, regulations, guidelines, and procedures, including monitoring and maintaining food temperatures during cooking, holding, and storage processes. Avoids cross-contamination of foods and adheres to personal hygiene requirements.
Maintains labeling and storage of food, equipment, and machinery.
Performs washing and cleaning duties to ensure sanitation & cleanliness in cooking and serving areas.
