Job summary

Glendale Memorial Hospital and Health Center is seeking a Cook to support patient, staff, and visitor meals in a high-volume healthcare kitchen. You will prepare meals to meet therapeutic diets, follow state and federal food safety regulations, and ensure delicious, safe dishes for diverse diets.

The role requires at least one year of Food Service Experience, a High School Diploma or GED, and a Food Handler Permit (obtain within 30 days).

Qualifications

• One (1) year of Food Service Experience required.
• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Food Handler Permit required. (must obtain within 30 days of hire date.)

Responsibilities

• Prepares and serves food within the guidelines of the menu and dietary requirements, using required kitchen utensils and equipment such as slicers, mixers, ovens, fryers, steamers, stove tops, and grills. Modifies preparations to account for food allergies.
• Follows healthcare foodservice industry standards, regulations, guidelines, and procedures, including monitoring and maintaining food temperatures during cooking, holding, and storage processes. Avoids cross-contamination of foods and adheres to personal hygiene requirements.
• Maintains labeling and storage of food, equipment, and machinery.
• Performs washing and cleaning duties to ensure sanitation & cleanliness in cooking and serving areas.
