Job summary

Prosperity Placement Solutions is representing a respected nonprofit in the Sarasota/Bradenton area seeking a Healthcare Controller. You will oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, and treasury functions, providing strategic financial insight to support executive decisions.

The role offers a competitive salary from $145,000 to $185,000, comprehensive benefits including health insurance and a 403(b), plus substantial PTO.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.
• 5+ years of Controller or senior accounting leadership experience in healthcare.
• CPA strongly preferred.
• Solid knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Advanced Excel skills; budgeting, forecasting and analysis experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting and financial reporting activities.
• Prepare accurate monthly and annual financial statements.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Manage cash flow and treasury operations.
• Develop and strengthen internal controls and financial policies.
• Analyze financial performance and provide strategic recommendations.
• Partner with department leaders on budgets and financial planning.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Support audits and maintain financial accuracy.
• Serve as a trusted financial advisor to executive leadership.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial systems and operational efficiencies.

Position Overview

The Controller will oversee the organization's accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and treasury functions. This individual will play a key leadership role by providing financial insight that supports executive decision-making while ensuring the organization's financial integrity and compliance.
