Job summary

MyGreat Recruitment Inc. is seeking a Project Manager to support a public-sector healthcare facility in Oakland, CA.

You will serve as the owner’s representative, coordinating client, contractors, architects and engineers to drive delivery through construction and closeout. You will manage cost, schedule and risk while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships, negotiating contracts and upholding project controls.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of construction project management experience delivering projects through construction and closeout.
• Owner-side, agency, municipality or construction management experience; GC background only is not favored.
• Experience delivering vertical public-sector, healthcare, education or institutional construction projects.
• Strong client-facing, negotiation and stakeholder-management skills with knowledge of contracts, change management, cost, schedule and project controls.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or related discipline, or substantial equivalent experience.
• Based within approx. one hour of Oakland project site or willing to relocate within commuting distance.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary owner representative and day-to-day point of contact for client, contractors, architects, engineers, consultants and other stakeholders.
• Manage construction activities from mobilization through completion, commissioning, turnover and closeout.
• Advocate for the owner's interests while maintaining productive relationships with contractors and external partners.
• Review and administer contracts, drawings, specifications, schedules, estimates, change orders, RFIs, submittals and other documentation.
• Manage project cost, schedule, scope, risk, quality, documentation and overall construction performance.
• Lead project meetings, document decisions and actions, and ensure commitments are tracked through completion.
• Coordinate and monitor the work of contractors, design consultants, CM staff and other participants.
• Support negotiation and resolution of change orders, contractual issues, scope changes and challenges.
• Maintain clear communication with the client regarding status, risks, decisions, budget and schedule.
• Ensure information moves efficiently between owner, design team, contractors and stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate project controls, reporting systems and document management throughout construction.
• Support bid, procurement and contracting activities as needed.
• Help deliver the project in accordance with owner requirements, contractual obligations, regs, budget and schedule.
