Job summary

WVU Medicine in Morgantown seeks a seasoned professional to lead the planning and design of major projects, from inception through construction. You will oversee procurement, equipment planning, and logistics, while mentoring trades teams to deliver within schedule and budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, interior design, or related field.
• Valid driver's license.
• 3 years’ experience in construction.
• Master’s degree preferred; architect or engineering license preferred; PMP/CHC/CHFM certifications encouraged.
• Experience in a healthcare system, academic medical center, public sector or university environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the entire planning and design process, project delivery planning, bidding and selection, construction execution, medical equipment planning and procurement, and coordination of all project logistics.
• Mentor and supervise PDC Trades Teams throughout projects.
• Develop clear estimates for renovations, with scope descriptions and cost projections.
• Develop and lead communication plans for transparency among leaders, departments, stakeholders and patients.
• Prepare detailed project schedules and work scopes for new construction and renovations.
• Review bids and negotiate fee proposals with consultants and coordinate architects/contractors.
• Represent WVU Medicine in reviewing professional service billings.
• Provide project status reports and schedules to stakeholders and senior leadership.
• Advise on costs and scenarios to keep projects on time and within budget.
• Lead change management with user groups to maintain scope and budget using LEAN processes.
• Ensure design/construction compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, WV State Fire Marshall, OHFLAC and other regulators.
• Maintain and audit project files and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
