Job summary

Ajax Building Company in Florida seeks a Healthcare Project Manager to lead planning and execution of complex healthcare construction projects from preconstruction through closeout, including occupied hospitals and medical facilities.

You will coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, hospital leadership, and field teams to deliver high‑quality projects safely, on schedule, and within budget, while navigating AHCA requirements and infection control measures.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial construction project management experience.
• Healthcare construction experience strongly preferred, including hospitals and healthcare facilities.
• Experience managing projects within occupied hospital or healthcare environments preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• General Contractor License preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution, and closeout of healthcare construction projects, including occupied hospital renovations and new facilities.
• Manage project execution with field leadership, subcontractors, consultants, and stakeholders to meet safety, schedule, and budget targets.
• Develop procedures, logistics, schedules, and communications to minimize disruption to patient care and hospital operations.
• Establish budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting; identify and mitigate project risks.
• Coordinate with hospital administrators, infection prevention, and care teams throughout the lifecycle.
• Lead planning for phased construction, ICRA, ILTM, temporary facilities, and occupancy transitions.
• Oversee procurement, including subcontractor buyout, long-lead equipment, and healthcare systems.
• Manage contracts, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and owner billing for financial performance.
• Review performance metrics and manage cost, schedule, quality, safety, and risk across all phases.
• Collaborate with Superintendents to resolve field challenges and maintain schedule commitments.
• Represent Ajax in communications and negotiations with owners, architects, engineers, and regulators.
• Ensure AHCA compliance, project specs, codes, and healthcare regulations.
• Oversee commissioning, turnover, training, closeout docs, and warranty activities.
