Job summary

Orthopaedic South Surgical Center is seeking a Collections Specialist for a part-time, temporary 6-month position. The role focuses on medical claim follow-up, reimbursement interpretation, and patient communication within a fast-paced orthopedic practice.

Ideal candidates will have 1–2 years of healthcare collections experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently while maintaining team collaboration. Prior use of Advantx and EHR systems is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years previous collections experience, healthcare focus preferred.
• Must pass credit check.
• Experience with Advantx (Patient Accounting System)
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
• Experience with electronic health records systems.

Responsibilities

• Follow up on delinquent claims for the surgery center.
• Interpret managed care contracts and determine reimbursement validity.
• Contact insurance carriers and patients regarding payments and balances.
• Maintain professional, confidential communication with patients and staff.
