Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Collector to perform collection activities for assigned accounts under general supervision. You will contact patients and insurance representatives by phone or mail to check claim status and counsel patients on financial arrangements.

Maintains collection files in the accounts receivable system and performs thorough follow-up. This role works with the Billing and Collections Manager to resolve payment issues and present documentation for approval.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of experience in a relevant role (collections, billing, or healthcare preferred).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Contact patients and insurance representatives by phone or mail to check claim status and counsel patients on financial arrangements.
• Maintain collection files in the accounts receivable system with detailed records for follow-up.
• Work to resolve payment issues, arrange payment plans, and provide documentation to supervisors.
