Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Coding Coordinator to monitor operations and ensure timely, accurate coding in collaboration with physicians and third‑party suppliers. The role emphasizes improving documentation, applying coding guidelines, and maintaining confidentiality.

The successful candidate will have ICD-10/CPT expertise, strong communication skills, and experience working in a team with a focus on process improvement and compliance.

Qualifications

• Education and experience requirements as listed: Associate's degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in coding or related roles.
• Must hold one or more CCS, CCS-P, CIC, CIRCC, COC, CPC, RHIA, or RHIT certifications.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with physicians, providers, and third-party vendors to optimize coding workflows.
• Monitor KPIs/CPIs and communicate findings to the Coding Manager.
• Educate clinicians on coding guidelines and documentation improvement.
• Assist in policy, procedure, and process development for coding areas.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.

Education

Associate's degree or 2 years of work experience above the minimum qualification

4 Years of Experience

Certification/license requirements (CCS, CCS-P, CIC, CIRCC, COC, CPC, RHIA, RHIT)
