Job summary

Zelis is seeking a Document Retrieval Specialist to support medical claim review by contacting healthcare providers for billing documentation. You will upload, index, and review documentation to ensure completeness and client requirements are met, while maintaining privacy and accuracy.

Based in Morristown, NJ, the role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication with providers and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Healthcare/claims/billing or customer service experience preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and web-based systems.
• Strong prioritizing and organizational skills; detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Contact healthcare providers to request billing documents via fax, mail, and email.
• Receive and upload documents into designated systems and index them to the correct claim.
• Review documents for completeness, accuracy, and client compliance; escalate discrepancies.
• Organize and prioritize claims, and follow up on outstanding requests.
• Document outreach attempts, provider communications, and request statuses.
• Use document retrieval systems and related tools efficiently.
• Learn and process requests per provider and client requirements.
• Meet or exceed Document Retrieval department performance standards.
• Maintain privacy and confidentiality in handling information.
