Job summary

OU Health is seeking a Carpenter Foreman to coordinate and lead carpentry work across OU Health campuses. The role ensures safety, quality standards, and adherence to plans and specifications, with duties spanning planning, task assignment, and training of carpentry teams.

The position requires extensive carpentry experience (10+ years) including healthcare settings, ASHE certifications, and a valid Oklahoma driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 10 years of carpentry experience with minimum 5 years in a healthcare setting.
• Infection Control Risk Assessment qualification (ASHE) required.
• Door Inspection and Maintenance qualification (ASHE) required.
• Clean driving record and current driver’s license issued by the state required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Plans, supervises and participates in skilled carpentry work in maintenance and/or new construction/additions.
• Determines materials and assigns tasks to carpenters and helpers.
• Performs interior and exterior trim work and cabinet/construction tasks as directed.
• Supervises cabinet making: doors, windows, built-ins and shop equipment.
• Ensures work aligns with plans and specifications and coordinates with other trades.
• Instructs and trains team members; checks work in progress and completed work.
• Oversees carpentry and painting contractors; selects machinery and tools for projects.
• Maintains records of time, materials, and supplies used.
